In addition to AS 3.0 component packages GLU’s v2.1 recent release also includes some significant upgrades and additions to the platform:
Global Cloud Storage Delivery Network
No longer a standalone n-tier rich internet application on a Media Temple (mt) server, GLU now has the infrastructure behind it to spread its wings and provide serious rich media storage and delivery capabilities to its core offerings.

Real-time, Rich Media Encoding & Publishing
Previously taken care of on a standalone dedicated server, rich media encoding and publishing through GLU now includes simultaneous access to a cluster of up to 10 Intel Xenon Quad Core processors. Current input sources include Mobile, Email, and File Upload.

GLU User Interface
The GLU GUI has finally had some dedicated attention and been polished to a respectable and client presentable level which we’re really happy with. Even though this is a public beta, it always feels nice working with something that looks nice too.
