The GLU component architecture is divided into two main categories:
Visual Components and Connectors.
Visual Components
These are components that most people work with. They include a visual representation of the underlying data and usually also manage user interactions. These include Video Gallery, Podcast Player, Blog, etc.
Connectors
These are non-visual components that manage communication with the backend, usually for retrieving and sending data to the backend. They provide finer control of the components to developers. Developers can use one or more connectors to create custom visual components.

Online Management System
Both Visual Components and Connectors can be managed through GLU's online management system, enabling widget management, media conversion and moderation, and rich media content management.
